We believe that worship is not initiated when the church is congregated together, but true worship is the expression of a believer’s sacrifice of his/her life for the purpose of exalting the Living God. The Old Testament example of sacrifice was displayed through the Levitical Law. The worshiper was to give the very best of his possessions to be a sacrifice to God. Jesus promised that a time will come when, “The true worshiper will worship the Father in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23) The time of Jesus’ promise has come. He is the fulfillment of the Law (Romans 10:4) as the High Priest who entered into the Holy of Holies bearing the perfect sacrifice of His own blood for the complete atonement of our sins (Hebrews 9:23-28). Therefore, the time has come for those redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ to “offer your bodies as living sacrifices” (spirit) and “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (truth) (Romans 12:1-2). Corporate worship is the expression of the congregated church who seeks to exalt the supremacy of God. That exaltation should express the fresh working of the Spirit in each individual heart. Therefore, our worship will endeavor to 1) magnify the sovereignty of God and the atonement of Christ above all else, 2) express musically the diversity of the Christ-centered congregation, 3) point the unregenerate to a Supreme God, and 4) minister to weak in faith to bring restitution to a Christ-centered life.

The Gathering - 9:00am

The Gathering meets for an hour every Sunday morning. Currently there are four classes being offered: Community Training, the Teaching, and three Providence Kids classes. Community Training is a class for new members who desire to learn more about the church and its theology. The Teaching is a basic Bible doctrines class, which is also geared at teaching through our entire doctrinal statement. Providence Kids is a children’s program that teaches theology to children through Scripture and song.

Sunday Worship - 10:30am

Sunday Worship is the time that the community of believers comes together to unite in one spirit of worship to God. An average service at Providence Community will begin with people talking over coffee in our cafe. The service will begin with a prayer by one of our pastors to focus the mornings hectic activities towards God. Following the prayer, there will be a time of corporate singing of Christian songs. The time of singing will lead into a Bible message that will focus on a specific portion of Scripture. We call our preaching “expository” for the reason that it will take you through a book of the Bible verse by verse, so as to expose the text and not a particular topic. Following the message, the service will be concluded with an opportunity for the regular members to give in an offering. This time is only for regular atteneders, no visitor will ever be asked to give financially to this church. Following the service, many of the people enjoy hanging around to talk and catch up on the weeks events. Never will anyone be highlighted or embarrassed for visiting.

Providence Kids

Providence Community is a church that is dedicated to meeting the spiritual needs of the entire family. It is our goal to partner with the parents in the discipleship of your children by doing all we can to nurture the faith of the children that have been entrusted to us. The theme verses for our children’s ministry are found in Deuteronomy 6:5-7.

We want our church, as a community of believers, to come together with whole-hearted dependence on God, and a Christ-exalting determination to raise our children to love and worship God with all of their being. As we see the world’s agenda for our children, we sense a tremendous urgency for the church to join with the parents to bring forth an even stronger agenda for God in the lives of our children. Thus, we will be as intentional and passionate about teaching our children to love God and embrace Christ as we are in teaching the adults to do the same. In order to accomplish this purpose, we offer a children’s program that is structured to help the children of Providence learn who God is, what He is like, and how they should act toward Him. We will aim to teach God’s Word to our children in a way that is exciting and easily understood and that exalts the worth of God.

As a young faith family, the nursery is a busy place where we are able to demonstrate love and grace to one another by caring for our precious little ones. Caring for children is a wonderful way to demonstrate that we treasure what our God treasures. Psalm 127:3 says, “Children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Children are a treasure from God and we must work to diligently prize them as such. It is our deep desire that all who would serve would demonstrate a loving and caring, indeed godly, spirit toward all the children of our covenant community as well as those who would join with us for worship on any occasion. Thus, we strive to be careful and deliberate in the process of who cares for our children each week. We want you to know that it is a joy to serve you and your little ones. Your children will enjoy a safe, clean and fun environment where they can play and learn with our dedicated caregivers. Our passion is to provide a nurturing, healthy, and safe environment for your children in order that you may enjoy the fellowship of the body and the worship of our great God.
